Am I really the father?
It’s a common question these days – particularly since, according to the CDC, 40% of women who give birth are not married. (Although a person’s marital status does not necessarily signify the biological father isn’t known.)
If you need a reliable paternity test, we can assist.
How can I get a paternity test?
Whether you are a man trying to determine if the child’s yours or a woman insistent that a particular man fathered her child, the following detailed procedure is necessary for court-admissibility:
Test needs to be ordered. This can be done by the alleged father, the mother, or even the court. A child may request testing, but he/she must be 18 years of age or older. To order a paternity test, give us a call.
The evaluation gets put on the calendar. An appointment needs scheduled as Paternity Testing is not a walk-in procedure. In the event test results will be used as proof in court, you can count on our precise chain-of-custody.
DNA samples are collected. Best case scenario, the suspected father, the mother, and the child are available for sampling. The mother’s participation, however, isn’t mandatory. The sample sets don’t have to be obtained at precisely the same time or place. The most common way we gather samples is through a cheek swab.
Outcomes are delivered. Samples are analyzed by AABB-accredited labs which run a comprehensive report on them and are processed twice to guarantee accuracy. According to who ordered the testing and how results will be used, private results will be provided. When the outcomes needed in a legal situation, we will make sure they are sent straight to the necessary parties.
Results are typically available within 2-3 days.
